Introduction

Product on Review: HX Series HX850
Manufacturer and Sponsor: Corsair
Street Price: £140 (GBP) (At time of review)

The HX Series has been a mainstay for Corsair over the years but today sees the series receive a facelift from 80 Plus Silver Efficiency to 80 Plus Gold Efficiency. It’s quite clear that Corsair have been pleased with the success of this range and therefore feel it necessary to improve the energy efficiency for consumers.

Efficiency isn’t the only aspect to have been improved; the aesthetics have also been given a boost and as an entire package the new HX850 promises to bring a fresh lease of life to the HX series. Today we will be taking a look at the HX850, capable of handling NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossfireX. Let’s begin our analysis!

Corsair on the HX Gold Series
The Corsair HX 80PLUS® Gold certified modular power supplies offer quiet performance, with a fanless mode at low power loads, and the flexibility of using only the cables needed for a clean system build with optimal airflow.

Industrial-grade specs like a 50C power rating and upgraded internal components like high quality 105C capacitors back up legendary HX series quality, and provide you with peace of mind for a full 7 year warranty.
