Unigine V2.1 Benchmark
Unigine's benchmark is to showcase the benefits of DX 11 and the use of tessellation as opposed to normal rendering techniques. The demo has impressive visuals that gives an insight into what we can expect from gaming in the future.

The HD6950 displays very impressive results here, outperforming not only the HD5870 but also the GTX480, a consolation victory amidst the Nvidia dominance throughout.

This is where we see a marked improvement in AMD’s new Cayman’s architecture. Looking at the DX11 tessellation performance, the HD6950 outshines the HD5870 by 45% at stock speed and 50% at overclocked speeds. As such, AMD has become more competitive with Nvidia’s offerings but not quite enough to match the GTX480 which outperforms it by a further 26%/31% at stock and overclocked speeds respectively. It is welcoming to see AMD becoming more competitive in its tessellation performance.
