The HIS HD7850 IceQ X is at an immediate disadvantage when compared to the NVIDIA card having 1GB of GDDR5 less. How this will effect benchmarks at 1920x1080p we will see later in the review but I fear it is the added filters such as AA that will cause the biggest deficit.

Nevertheless, the HD7850 still has plenty to shout about with the faster memory bus on test at 256bit compared to the 192bit on the NVIDIA card. So while the HIS HD7850 has 1GB less memory and despite it being clocked lower at 1200MHz (4800 effective), it still has the most bandwidth thanks to that memory bus, clocking in at 153.6 GB/s compared to the GTX650Ti BOOST's 144.2 GB/s. The 7850 also has a higher pixel fillrate of 27.5 GPixels per second but loses 16.6% to the NVIDIA card when comparing texture fillrate.

All considered, the two cards look fairly evenly matched. The HD7790 is punching above its weight with this company, losing out in the majority of comparisons however it is by far the cheapest card on test so it will be worthwhile to see how much of an increase in performance the two middleweights give over the lightweight HD7790.
