Packaging and closer look cont'd:

The rear of the PSU looks fairly standard - a now almost industry standard 'hex mesh' grill, 3 pin power socket and power switch. No need for a 115v/230v switch since the RX-8500 takes care of that internally.

At the front of the PSU you see both the captive cabling and modular sockets.

The captive cabling consists of the following:

- 24-pin (20+4) ATX connector
- 4-pin ATX12v
- 8-pin EPS12v
- 2x 8-pin PCI-E connectors

The modular cabling covers all remaining bases:

- 2x 6-pin PCI-E cables
- 2x molex runs (each consisting of 3x 4 pin molex's and a single fdd socket)
- 2x SATA runs (each consisting of 3x SATA power plugs)

The sides are a standard design with one side being completely blank apart from a serial number and the other stating the make, model and technical specifications of the unit.
