A little about Antec:
Antec, Inc., is the leading global brand of high-performance computer components and accessories for the gaming, PC upgrade and Do-It-Yourself (DIY) markets. Founded in 1986, Antec is recognized as a pioneer in these industries and has maintained its position as a worldwide market leader and international provider of efficient, quiet, and reliable products. Antec has also achieved great success in the distribution channel, meeting the demands of quality-conscious system builders, VARs and integrators.

And what Antec have to say about the CP-850W:
The CP-850 features a unique design with an advanced cooling system, exclusively compatible with some of Antec's most cutting-edge Gamer and Performance One enclosures, including the Twelve Hundred, P183 and P193. By breaking the mold of standardised power supply size restrictions, the CP-850 design is able to provide an excellent price-to-performance ratio. A silent rear 120mm PWM fan and dual PCB layout also ensure optimal cooling performance and reliability.

Packaging

Antec CP-850W – Box Front

The box front is clear and uncluttered with a decent picture of the power supply which immediately shows you that this supply is a little different to most with that 120mm fan bolted to the outside of the casing rather than incorporated internally as most are. Antec also proudly display the 80 PLUS certification badge on the front of their packaging.

Antec CP-850W – Box Rear

The rear of the box has some technical specifications and features in 3 languages and also a further and more detailed explanation of the 80 PLUS certification – something they rightly consider to be of considerable merit. The sides of the box have additional information regarding the power output of the unit, and also a compatibility list of cases into which this PSU is specifically designed to fit, as per their quote about the CP-850 above. This design must surely limit their market for this PSU, but Antec do also have plenty of other PSU's which conform to standard size restrictions for those without an Antec case on the compatibility list.
