Closer Look

The top of the mouse features a couple of buttons which in default mode switch CPI levels. These levels can be set to your desired level using downloadable software which we look at later in the review. to the left are two lights which depict which CPI level is currently in use. Overall, the mouse may look bloated but it moulds into the palm of your hand extremely well and as we will see, if very comfortable to use for extended periods of time.

Here we get to see the oversized finger rest. HArdly a new design yet QPAD have taken the idea a step further by having two areas moulded so both your ring finger and your pinkie are comfortably poised on the mouse at all times. Despite this, the mouse can be used both in palm grip and claw grip modes although clearly, with a mouse this size, palm grip is the most natural to use.

The side buttons are perfectly positioned. Your thumb does not naturally rest on the buttons instead they are slightly above your thumb for quick access meaning they are unlikely to be inadvertently pressed during the heat of battle but they are there when needed. Each button can be configured for whatever action you want them to perform but in default mode they represent forward and back commands.

As you can see from the picture above, the mouse slants from left to right with the primary mouse buttons again curved to cradle the fingers. The mousewheel (which illuminates red when powered) is precise due to the notched operation but does not feature left and right clicks.

The bottom of the mouse features a bright red base with 4 large Teflon pads which dramatically reduce the friction. A replacement set is included in the package which should ensure the mouse continues it's top drawer operation for years to come. The main feature of the mouse though is the AVAGO 9800 Premium gaming grade laser sensor which it 8200 CPI should be enough to satisfy any pro gamer.

The USB connector is gold plated to ensure durability and ultra fast response of 1ms (1000MHz polling rate). The cable is also braided as you would expect with a high end mouse such as this which keeps the cabling neat and tidy along with preventing chaffing which could lead to future damage.

Let's take a look at the QPAD Software suite...
