This is the first time we’ve reviewed an office chair at Vortez and yet whether you’re a gamer, enthusiast, system builder or general office worker, such an appliance is often one of the most overlooked pieces of furniture. Careful reflection and observation would indicate that the humble office chair should actually be one of the fundamental considerations to counter the pitfalls of RSI, poor posture and health related problems further down the line.

Vertagear’s SL4000 is a welcome addition to any office regardless of the intended use. While the varying colour options will fit in better with a specific theme the Carbon edition we’ve been looking at today is probably more versatile with its styling. The materials used throughout SL4000 are high-quality and after a period of over three weeks testing we can verify how comfortable this chair is for prolonged periods of time. In the last 18 months we’ve used a number of inexpensive and reasonably priced office chairs and comfort is probably one of the aspects which is paramount above everything else. With the other options we’ve used comfort and noise became obvious concerns but we’re really pleased to report that both these issues are catered for with Vertagear’s solution.


To accommodate different body shapes, sizes and personal preference, the arm rests and backrest both have multiple adjustment possibilities to truly customise the positioning at the desk. There are also optional back and head supports for additional comfort.

Priced at £214 GBP / $339 USD, SL4000 may be quite a hefty sum for casual users but for anyone serious about settling down in front of their PC for extended periods of time, this is a good buy and the long-term benefits will outweigh the outright purchase.
