Another mid-tower joins the Obsidian Series. The new 550D computer chassis is under the spotlight. Will this case follow in the footsteps of other products?

  • That front panel is hideous! (I shall make a thread about this, it's something I feel strongly about )
  • Ridiculous options for cable management it seems. No excuses for not having a tidy case.
  • Liking the 2.5" mount on the top of the hard drive cage.
  • Very sleek looking.

Nice review Dave, Corsair coming out with some good cases now.

Yup great review mate.

I like this case, a good alternate for a silent case. Looks very very nice indeed and also has the option of higher airflow if you want it compared to other silent cases so this may be better for gaming/overclocking.

I agree with the front panel, I dont see why some companies make it a feature? it just makes it look ugly, I much prefer a 'stealth' front panel.

Other than that I love the looks

Nice review Dave

The photo's are first class mate and a credit to the review world. Probably why I always come here for a really good look at a case before buying now

This case... I really... really like. Understated elegance and you have the options of going passive cooled (ie GPU and as mentioned H100 for CPU) which makes sense with the fitted fans and the silenced aspect or you've the option of removing a couple of panels and going for more fans to improve airflow.

The comments about the front I/O panel are a little vain really guys. Floor mounted ....thay are actually in the ideal position. Ports on the top just get crumbs and debris in them.

Not bad! But I wish there will be 4 USB ports at the front. Afterall, there are so many space at the front panel. :-(

I did wonder this myself -- it seems there was almost a thought of having additional ports there but they decided against it.

Or it might be one of those weird design balance things with 2 holes one side and 2 holes the other... who knows?
