Nice review.
Good overall performance of this Gen3 GD65. I've been using ASUS for my own PC, may consider giving it a go in the next upgrade.

I have found a mistake in your review. On page 4, when the backpanel connections are listed, you state the button on the backpanel is a memOK! button, which clearly it is not. It is a reset-cmos button.

Nice review yet again Dave

No experience with Sandy Bridge generation yet but I'm sure to review all the available MB's here when I do decide to do so

Or maybe Ivy Bridge

Or...................................

Anyone falling for this "Military Class" rubbish ?

Actually it is not rubbish, tantalum is really a superior material to the standard solid capacitors. It also has the ability to heal itself. All the components of the military class parts, actually prolong the life of the board, reduce temps and help stabilize the power delivered.

Was actually referring to "Military Class" rather than the materials used. Would you be more prone to buying something if I stamped "Space Shuttle Class" on it? Even though the nearest anything in my product got to the Space Shuttle was a distant relative visiting a sub contractors workshop?

After checking the wiki for tantalum capacitor, the most interesting section is - " Self-destruction and thermal runaway"

In fact, "Military Class" is just a marketing move manufacturers to promote their products. It is my opinion

"Equipment such as medical electronics and space equipment that require high quality and reliability make use of tantalum capacitors" ..."Tantalum capacitors are relatively expensive, particularly the military grades."- I rest my case.
