Records continue to tumble as Corsair blitz the previous memory frequency benchmark using custom LN2-cooled Dominator GT CMGTX6 DDR3 RAM.
AMD's Bulldozer CPU may not have gained many plaudits for performance since release, but it's certainly a contender when it comes to raw frequency records. Most recently Corsair employee and World Champion overclocker Jake "Planet" Crimmins set a new Memory Frequency record on AMD Bulldozer with Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) cooled Corsair Dominator GT CMGTX6.
Planet reached a validated 1733.8MHz (DDR3-3467) using an AMD Bulldozer FX-8150 with 1 module enabled and one stick of 1GB Corsair Dominator GT RAM, powered by a Corsair AX1200 PSU. Planet had recently exchanged his trusty Intel P55-based system for AMD Bulldozer specifically in the search for higher memory clocks. Other system hardware included an ASUS Crosshair V and nVidia 580 GFX - apart from the extreme cooling necessary the record-breaking system was hardly exotic.
