You get a lot of features for the money on the new AMD platform. However, I haven't personally owned an ASRock board (have used them, were fine) so I'm not 100% on what sort of quality they are and where they sit in the market nowadays. They seem to specialise in what I would describe as 'transition products' and so AM3+ boards are certainly their territory.

Looks like the 990FX comes with a USB 3.0 front ports, nice addition if your case doesn't have them. Have never used (or even seen) a USB 3.0 product in real life yet. Is it just me being old fashioned, or are they really on the rise? USB 2.0 seemed to become popular overnight, I'm not sure about USB 3.0 yet. I guess it comes at a bad time.

I can see right angled SATA ports, nice addition, but is that also an IDE port on the 990FX? Two PCI slots also seems to be bucking the trend of the other manufacturers 990FX boards (which seem to feature one or none IIRC). These are the sort of areas where I think ASRock find their niche. They're usually pretty competitive on price too.

Thanks for posting this.

EDIT: and kudos to them introducing a graphical UI for the BIOS. Something Gigabyte haven't managed or felt necessary yet it seems.

would have posted the PR on the main site but couldnt find it on the asrock site.

something that should be included with mroe mobos imo at least till more cases include usb headers as standard.

Well you could argue that cases do nowadays. As I said above, ASRock seem to cater to users with older hardware, so this sort of inclusion is for them. I checked, and the 990FX board does have an IDE port! Something I didn't think I'd see, but if it was going to be anyone, it'd be ASRock.

EDIT: Also, here's the PR mate. I'll do it if you want.

EDIT2: I think you went to bed. Did it anyway, g'night! Updated the OP.
