Running for a limited time, EA have placed well regarded FPS Battlefield 3 on their On The House promotion, offering it for free to all users of the Origin digital distribution service.

Battlefield 3 was one of the most highly rated titles of 2011, praised particularly for its deep multiplayer. Although that was definitely its focus, carried through by the multiple map pack DLCs, the game still had a significant single player section if that's your thing.

Once again, the On The House terms are as follows:

Free?! What's the catch?
There's no catch. Grab full games, expansions and more at absolutely no cost. Just make sure to act fast because On the House specials can appear and disappear at any time.

You mean a trial or demo, right?
Nope. You’re getting a full version of the real game — for free!

How long will I own the game?
Once you’ve claimed your game, it’s yours to keep!

Why is Origin doing this?
Our goal is to provide a great gaming experience and a way to discover awesome new games. Having a game in your library, for free, is a fantastic way to see what Origin is all about.

This offer ends on June 3rd, no purchase necessary. As a reminder, Plants Vs. Zombies is still also free as part of Origin's On The House, and will remain so until June 16th.
