Carbide 400R

We've been waiting for Corsair's Carbide range to enter circulation since May's Computex Expo, but all the public's been able to see are flashes of video or promotional material. Well, today the Carbide 400R should finally become available worldwide - so long as the etailer stock holds out. Built on classic looks but with modern features including fan filters and 240mm Radiator mounts, the 400R enters the fray at the extremely competitive $99/£75-80 point. No doubt sales will be high, the brand alone almost assures that, but it'll be interesting to see if it can tempt new cost-concious PC builders without experience of Corsair products.

To compliment the release of the 400R, pictures of the Carbide 500R-Black have been shown off too. Also available in White, the 500R builds on the classic looks of the 400R with sleeker lines and larger internal dimensions. One of the most intriguing features of the 500R is the space for a H100 (or similar thin 240mm radiator) in a roof compartment. There's no street date for the 500R as yet, but you'll probably not be far off if you expected to pay £110 for the 400R's slightly more upmarket bigger brother.
