Coventry was the venue for the 55th Insomnia Gaming Festival this past weekend, and a goodly number of manufacturers and gamers were on site to celebrate the hobby and offer a sneak peak at some new hardware and software. This time around GIGABYTE UK wanted to do a little something extra for the community, hitting upon the idea of a charity raffle to run through Friday and Saturday and hold draws every evening.

The prize pool was pretty formidable and featured CPUs from AMD, monitors from AOC, HyperX memory and SSDs, and a host of other equipment from Cooler Master, Fractal Design, Netgear, Crucial and GIGABYTE themselves. Thanks to the generosity of doners and raffle participants the event was able to raise £2417 for the chosen charity, Zoe’s Place.

Zoe’s Place is one of the small number of hospices in the UK specialising in palliative care for infants and babies. They offer critical care to some of those in the most dire need, as well as help and support for families. Needless to say, they're a very worthy beneficiary.

GIGABYTE would like to thank the attendees of Insomnia 55 for their support and generosity; and also their co-sponsors, without whom the raffle couldn't be possible. They also have plans in the works to organise bigger charity raffles at future events, so keep your eyes peeled if you're planning a trip to a LAN later this year.
