Microsoft Have Released Office On Android Tablets

Microsoft have officially released Word, Excel and PowerPoint for Android tablets and these are now available on Google Play. These apps are free to use but if you want some additional functionality you will need an Office 365 subscription.

Watch the video below to see it in action.

These apps have been built from the ground up for use with a touch screen and optimised for tablets. However, despite this they still have a very distinct Office feel. In order to take advantage of this you will need a tablet that has a 7 inch screen or larger, an ARM based processor and 1 GB RAM or above and it needs to be running KitKat 4.4.x. Lollipop is not supported at the moment but will be in a subsequent update.

What do you think of this? Is it something you'll use or will you stick with Google Docs?
