NVIDIA announced the mid-range GeForce GTX 1060 yesterday and revealed a very tempting US MSRP of $249 for entry-level partner versions and $299 for a Founder's Edition design. We were however waiting on UK & EU pricing, which NVIDIA have issued today.

To put the UK pricing in context, the only custom AMD Radeon RX 480's for sale in the UK are Sapphire RX 480 NITRO+ OC and PowerColor RX 480 Devil13, which are currently available (on pre-order) for £249.99 and £254.99 respectively. Competition between 3rd party versions of this card and the GTX 1060 is likely to be fierce, which is great news for consumers. By contrast there is a relatively wide gulf of £40 between reference versions of the RX 480 8GB and GTX 1060 Founder's Edition, the latter of which is only available direct from NVIDIA.
Benchmarks for the GTX 1060 will be released to coincide with the cards official launch on July 19th. It's only then that we will find out which camp - Red or Green - is most attractive between £220 and £280.
