NVIDIA's GTX 1060 Surfaces In Hong Kong

NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1060 may be with us a little sooner than most were expecting if a recent retailer leak is anything to go by. The upcoming GPU - set to launch in the mid-range gaming bracket - has been pictured on Reddit and traced to Hong Kong retailer CAP.com.hk.

Little can be discerned from this image alone, but it's highly likely that the GeForce GTX 1060 is intended to compete with the Radeon RX 480, AMD's own next-gen graphics card which will launch this week. Capabilities should be broadly in line with other Pascal cards, whilst realistically performance is anyone's guess. The card PCB should be shorter than both GTX 1070 & 1080 reference designs, but the length of the 'blower' cooler makes this a little difficult to ascertain for sure.

The image indicates that there will be a 'reference' Founder's Edition card for this release and that non-reference designs will follow, but charging a substantial premium for this model may be difficult given the price-conscious nature of the segment and competition from AMD.
