EA's On The House free game programme debuted in March with Dead Space, the 3rd-person horror shooter from Visceral Games. This week they're back with their second deal, the always popular lane defence game Plants Vs Zombies.

PvZ isn't quite as splashy as offering Dead Space, a well regarded triple-A title, but it is an immensely popular game which is suitable for a much wider age group. If you have Origin installed already you'd be crazy not to pick it up - after all, it is free.

About 'On the House'

Free?! What's the catch?
There's no catch. Grab full games, expansions and more at absolutely no cost. Just make sure to act fast because On the House specials can appear and disappear at any time.

You mean a trial or demo, right?
Nope. You’re getting a full version of the real game — for free!

How long will I own the game?
Once you’ve claimed your game, it’s yours to keep!

Why is Origin doing this?
We're gamers, too. We appreciate you making Origin your gaming home ... and besides, who doesn't like free stuff?

The actual version available is the Game Of The Year edition and includes content developed since the first release. This On The House freebie is expected to run until the 28th May 2014, at which time it may be swapped out for a different title.
