Samsung's SSD Angels Return In Latest Video

Samsung are all about Solid State Drives these days, and they want to get the word out. To promote the latest 840-series SSD, the successor to the 830 unvieled in Pro form last September, the SSD Angels took a trip to the City of Angels and began preaching the good word of SSD to the masses. To mixed success.

Following some understandably reluctant responses, as well as the odd astonished upgradee, the Angels briefly interrupted a Video Games Live concert, amplifing the signal to the attended geek masses. Incidentally, if you get the chance to go see Video Games Live, do so.

Of course, this semi-viral-video-come-advertisement is all in good fun; but it also goes to highlight the wow-factor of just such an upgrade for those a little less confident in their personal technology. A transition from HDD to SSD remains one of the most significant performance boosts you can perform to a system, new or old, and has the added benefit of being applicable to netbooks, laptops and desktops alike. There's never been a more affordable time to buy an SSD, especially in more sensible 120GB+ capacities.

We've not had the chance to review the Samsung 840, but the 256GB Samsung 830 made off like a bandit last year with a Vortez Gold Award and the price has only gone down since then.
