Sapphire has taken the fastest consumer grade GPU trophy from EVGA with the AMD Graphics Core Next architecture based HD 7970 6GB Toxic Edition, clocking in at...

Ah ha! I knew that would draw you in! The Sapphire HD 7970 6GB Toxic Edition clocks in at 1050Mhz (1100Mhz via PowerTune Dynamic Boost) and 6000MHz (effective) memory.

The 7970 Toxic Edition has built-in overclocking via what Sapphire calls the “Lethal Boost Button” that pushes the core’s clock speed to 1200 MHz on the engine, while the memory is further overclocked to 6400 MHz.

This is a massively powerful card and is powered by a power control system that Sapphire call the

Lethal Power Suite: An 8-phase power design for the GPU VDDC, an additional one phase each for VDDCI and MVDD, DirectFET technology and all on a 12 layer PCB ensuring stability, and a new Black Diamond Choke.

Sounds fantastic doesn't it? So, when can you get your hands on it? Sapphire say the 7970 6GB Toxic Edition will be available from the 17th of July (now in other words) but claims it is a limited edition product! If you want it, get in quick!
