Wireless headsets are traditionally expensive with lacklustre performance. There are often problem's with lag and poorer sound quality wired headphones in the same price range. However, it looks like Steelseries may have been able to bridge the gap.

The H wireless headset is their latest offering that boast some impressive Dolby technologies. These include multichannel audio reproduction for a cinematic audio experience, recreation of 7.1-channel multi-speaker surround sound, Pro Logic IIx optimises the surround experience for the most realistic multi-directional sound. IT's also lightweight, has memory foam ear cushions, extra padding on the headband and an impressive 20 hour battery life thanks to the dual lithium-ion batteries that allow you to charge up one battery while the other is being used.

There is also a retractable microphone and a share point that lets another listener connect and listen in on their own headphones.

Steelseries has stated that with these features the H Wireless headset provides
robust sound, lag-free wireless and versatile functionality bring superior audo to a wide range of platforms, including PC, Mac, Mobile devices, consoles, home entertainment, streaming devices and more.

However, there is more! There are two more innovations for gamers, ChatMix and LiveMix. ChatMix lets the user tune the balance between game and chat audio. This allows you to increase another gamers voice and keep you game volume the way you like it.

LiveMix automates that process. It reduces game audio on-the-fly to the users liking but only when chat audio is detected.

Steelseries will commence shipping these later this month and they are expected to cost around $299.99.

What do you think of them? We'd love to hear about it on our forums.
