FiiO, a company best known for its high-fidelity audio products and portable audio equipment, has entered the gaming market with its first-ever gaming headset, the FiiO FG3. The FG3 marks a notable departure from the brand’s predominantly audiophile-focused lineup, bringing its audio expertise into a gaming-oriented product at a surprisingly affordable US$69.99 MSRP. Considering FiiO’s reputation for producing premium audio gear that often commands a much higher price, the FG3 raises an interesting question: can FiiO deliver the level of audio quality expected from an audiophile brand at a price point typically occupied by affordable gaming headsets?



The FiiO FG3 is a wired gaming headset paired with an in-line DAC/Amp powered by a dual-core DSP chip. Having dedicated digital audio hardware included at this price point is notable, particularly from a brand with FiiO’s background in audio. The DAC/Amp also enables 7.1 virtual surround sound, which can provide a wider soundstage and improved positional awareness in supported games. The FG3 further features a dual dynamic driver setup comprising of 50mm and 15mm drivers, which will be a key focus of our audio testing later in the review.
