In a similar vein, UGREEN includes a comprehensive accessory pack with the DXP4800 GT, allowing the system to be assembled and configured with minimal preparation. Alongside the NAS enclosure, the package contains a 120W power adapter, regional power cable, Ethernet cable, quick installation guide, mounting screws for both 2.5-inch drives and M.2 SSDs, and a screwdriver to assist with installation. Apart from supplying your own storage media, everything required to install the system is included in the box, making the initial setup process simple and convenient.
At the heart of the DXP4800 GT is an AMD Ryzen Embedded R2514 processor, providing four cores and eight threads with boost frequencies reaching up to 3.7GHz. The NAS comes fitted with 8GB of DDR4 memory, supports ECC memory modules, and can be expanded to a maximum of 64GB. The front panel accommodates four lockable SATA drive bays, together with system status indicators, a power button, a 10Gbps USB-C port and a 10Gbps USB-A port for connecting high-speed storage devices. Around the rear, connectivity is significantly enhanced with dual 10GbE RJ45 Ethernet ports supporting link aggregation, another 10Gbps USB-A port, two USB 2.0 ports for accessories such as UPS monitoring or input devices, a 4K HDMI output, the DC power connector, a large cooling fan, and a removable magnetic dust filter. Internally, the NAS also houses two M.2 NVMe SSD slots for high-speed storage or cache acceleration, while a dedicated 64GB eMMC module stores the UGOS Pro operating system separately from the user storage drives.
The DXP4800 GT features a premium all-metal enclosure that immediately gives the impression of a robust, high-quality storage appliance. Finished in a refined space grey colour with subtle gold detailing unique to the GT range, the aluminium construction provides excellent rigidity while also helping to dissipate heat generated by the internal components. Cooling duties are handled by a large hydraulic-bearing fan, with fresh air drawn through the chassis and protected by a removable magnetic dust filter positioned at the rear for easy cleaning. The overall design balances professional aesthetics with practicality, resulting in a NAS that looks equally at home on a desktop, in a studio, or within a small business environment while maintaining quiet day-to-day operation.
The four front-mounted drive trays are designed for straightforward installation of 3.5-inch SATA hard drives without requiring tools. Each tray can be released from the chassis using the front latch before the side retention rails are pulled away from the tray. This creates sufficient clearance for the drive to be positioned into place, after which the rails are pushed back in so their locating pins engage with the mounting holes on either side of the hard drive, securing it firmly without screws. The DXP4800 GT supports hard drives up to 32TB in capacity, providing a maximum raw HDD capacity of 128TB across its four bays. Combined with the two internal M.2 NVMe slots, the system supports an overall storage capacity of up to 144TB. Additionally, the first two drive bays are compatible with U.2 SSDs, giving users the flexibility to deploy enterprise-grade solid-state storage where higher performance is required.
UGREEN has made future memory expansion particularly straightforward by incorporating a dedicated service panel into the underside of the chassis. Removing this cover provides direct access to the SO-DIMM sockets, eliminating the need to dismantle the NAS to perform an upgrade. The DXP4800 GT is equipped with a single 8GB DDR4 ECC-compatible SO-DIMM from the factory, while the second slot remains available for additional memory. With support for up to 64GB across the two slots, users can easily expand the available RAM by installing another compatible module, making upgrades quick, accessible, and far less involved than on many competing NAS platforms.
