NVidia GTX 200 Prices Set To Fall

Posted by: admin on: 2008-07-15 06:41:38 0 comments

NVidia have assumed the lead in the graphics chip market for a considerable amount of time. The battle between NVidia and ATI has been an ongoing thing and the competition has been very much in NVidia’s favour for the previous 2 years. The recent release of ATI’s HD 4870 chip has changed things quite dramatically. For one thing, they outperform the NVidia GT200 series in some games and for another they are an awful lot cheaper and this is most important to the consumer, the price/performance ratio.

The HD 4870 has really surprised NVidia they did not expect ATI’s forthcoming chips to match the performance of the GTX 200. This has caused them to have to alter their pricing quite suddenly – only weeks after release. So expect prices to fall in the not too distant future as the graphics card wars continue!

The AMD Black CPU is expected to consume 140W at maxiumum load which is an increase over previous chips like the 9850 while the X4 chips consume just 65W in total under load which would suit those seeking to give support to energy saving.
