UL Benchmarks has released 3DMark Solar Bay Extreme, an upgraded version of its cross-platform ray tracing benchmark. Building on the original Solar Bay for Android, iOS, and Windows, the new Extreme edition raises the bar with heavier ray tracing workloads and new effects, including ray-traced specular reflections, glass reflections, and soft shadows.

Since its launch, Solar Bay has been used by hundreds of thousands of gamers worldwide to test how their devices handle next-generation mobile and lightweight PC gaming. With hardware evolving rapidly, Solar Bay Extreme pushes performance testing further, preparing users for the more advanced processors and graphics technologies just around the corner.

About 3DMark Solar Bay

3DMark Solar Bay is a ray tracing benchmark for test for devices running iOS, Android and Windows 10 and 11. It’s designed for measuring gaming with ray tracing performance on notebooks, phones and tablets. Built using the Vulkan 1.1 graphics API for Android and Windows, and the Metal API for iOS, its results can be compared across supported platforms. The ray-traced workload increases linearly over three stages, letting you see how your device handles a variety of ray-traced gaming workloads.
