This year is the 80th anniversary of Batman's first appearance in print, and the annual Batman Day falls on September 21st. That being the case, could there be a better time for Epic Games to roll out a bumper Batman-themed free game for the week?
In the biggest Epic Games Store free game promotion thus far, those with an EGS account can treat themselves to the entire Batman: Arkham and LEGO Batman trilogies for nothing. That's hours of gaming in two of the best comic-book spin-off universes ever devised; especially the Batman: Arkham series, which is viewed as a classic of the late 00's.
Both trilogies follow an action-adventure style and strong in-game narrative. That's particularly the case for Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham series, which favoured fluid 3rd person combat and a dark storyline with Batman's Rogue's Gallery of villains as the focus. Arkham Asylum and Arkham City can now also be played with all the eye candy turned up even on relatively mediocre hardware, adding to the oppressive atmosphere present in both games.

Note that Batman: Arkham Origins isn't part of the promotion, just as it wasn't part of the core trilogy (nor was it developed by Rocksteady). You would also be well served by having a controller to hand for each of these titles; they may not be ideally optimised for keyboard and mouse input.
To grab your copies of all of these games you'll need a free Epic Game Store account and plenty of space on your HDD. The promotion will rotate at 5pm BST on September 26th, at which time Metro: 2033 Redux and David O'Reilly's Everything will be the two games up for grabs.
