It's been a long wait, almost two years, but Action/Adventure game Alan Wake is coming to the PC having been a XBox360 exclusive since May 2010. Critically acclaimed at the time - the game was nominated for a score of 2010 awards and won Gamspot's Readers Choice: Best Original IP and IGN's Best Horror - the PC edition promises to have significantly higher resolution textures and be an even more immersive experience.

Structured as a TV Series, the game follows the experiences of titular character Wake during an ill-fated relocation to the town of Bright Falls with his wife Alice. Chapters are stylised as self-contained 'Episodes', though an extended plot arch persists throughout the game. Included will be two special episodes 'The Writer' and 'The Signal', which continue on from the end of the main game.

Those with suitable hardware will be able to take advantage of NVIDIA's NVISION2 3D system and AMD's 3D implementation of triple-screen Eyefinity. The engine has been optimised to run on multi-core systems, allowing it to take advantage of modern CPU's in a way that many console ports still overlook. The game will also feature detailed keyboard and mouse configuration, field of view adjustment and multiple aspect ration options; each are poorly supported by many other games that make their way from consoles.
