AMD Radeon HD 7990 “Malta” Spotted in Crossfire X
A picture was published from one of the developmental staff from DICE, containing what appears to be the latest GPU offering from AMD, the new 7990.
Johan Andersson who is one of DICE’s developers on the Frostbite engine recently posted a picture on his Reddit account which has cause quite a stir. The picture contains which appears to be 2 x 7990’s in Crossfire X “codenamed Malta”.
Specification wise the card is powered with dual 8 pin connectors, supposedly with clocks from around 1000-1100 MHz and 6GB (2 x 3GB).
There are currently no benchmarks available but AMD are expected to launch the card later this month, possibly bundling the card itself with a copy of Battlefield 4.
It still remains to be seen what the final specifications and performance will be like but we will be keeping a close eye on further developments.
