Time to elect UK’s esports stars
According to the analyst Newzoo, the UK esports market ranks 5th in the world with 32.4m gamers and over $4bn in games revenue. This summer, on Saturday, 7 July 2018, the UK’s first ever UK Esports Awards 2018 will take place in Leicester.
Granting awards in 16 categories, this spectacular event will celebrate the esports scene in the UK in multiple ways. The award categories include not only gamers, esports team and managers but also casters, streamers, tournament organisers, backstage personalities and includes “Memes and Dreams” category for “Banter Of The Year” and “Wooden Spoon Award” as well.
“AOC are very proud to support the first UK Esports Awards, which recognises and celebrates all the hard work of those who commit their life to making the esports scene what it is today and which path it is on”, says AOC’s UK Channel Sales Manager Nathan Blank. “Just like the past 5 years, we will continue to prioritise this very important sector as well as the people that shape it and will keep building on our already strong position with new exciting products for both the enthusiast and professional gamers.”
UK Esports Award co-founder Adam Heath is equally excited about the cooperation: “It’s a pleasure to be working alongside AOC for the UK Esports Awards. They have consistently shown their support for the esports scene over the last few years, so it's great to have them on-board with this awards ceremony - a first for UK esports. AOC has raised the bar in the gaming monitor space; we're thrilled to be teaming up with them for this event.”
This spectacular event will be livestreamed on Twitch from ESL’s state-of-the-art Studio 1 facility in Leicester with a live audience on the spot by invitation.
