Apple has unveiled the new MacBook Neo, an all-new laptop designed to bring the Mac experience to more users at a lower entry price. Featuring a durable aluminium design, a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, Apple silicon performance, and all-day battery life, the MacBook Neo starts at just £599.

Powered by the A18 Pro chip and running macOS Tahoe, the MacBook Neo is built for everyday productivity, from web browsing and media streaming to photo editing and AI-powered workflows. Apple says the new model delivers up to 50% faster everyday performance compared to a bestselling PC with Intel Core Ultra 5, while offering up to 16 hours of battery life. Pre-orders begin today, with availability starting March 11.

Beautiful and Durable Aluminum Design
The MacBook Neo features a durable aluminium enclosure designed to be both elegant and portable. Weighing just 2.7 pounds, it is easy to carry in a backpack or handbag.

Apple is also introducing one of the most colourful MacBook designs to date, with four colour options: blush, indigo, silver, and citrus. Matching accents extend to the Magic Keyboard and wallpapers, creating a cohesive visual design.

Stunning 13-Inch Liquid Retina Display
MacBook Neo features a 13-inch Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2408 by 1506, 500 nits of brightness, and support for 1 billion colours. The display delivers sharp text and vibrant images, while an anti-reflective coating helps maintain comfortable viewing in different lighting conditions, whether watching videos, editing photos, or taking video calls.

Apple Silicon-Powered Performance
At the heart of MacBook Neo is Apple’s A18 Pro processor, designed to handle everyday tasks such as browsing the web, streaming content, editing photos, and multitasking between apps.

Apple states the system is up to 50 percent faster for everyday tasks and up to three times faster for on-device AI workloads compared to a bestselling PC with Intel Core Ultra 5. The integrated 5-core GPU supports graphics-intensive tasks and gaming, while a 16-core Neural Engine accelerates Apple Intelligence features and AI-based applications. The system also operates silently thanks to a fanless design.

All-Day Battery Life
Thanks to the efficiency of Apple silicon, MacBook Neo offers up to 16 hours of battery life on a single charge. This makes the laptop suitable for extended use throughout the day, whether for school, work, or entertainment while on the move.

Magic Keyboard and New Multi-Touch Trackpad
MacBook Neo includes Apple’s Magic Keyboard, designed to provide a comfortable and precise typing experience. A large Multi-Touch trackpad supports intuitive gestures such as clicking, scrolling, swiping, and pinching. Select models also include Touch ID for secure login and Apple Pay authentication.

1080p Camera; Dual Speakers and Mics
The laptop features a 1080p FaceTime HD camera with improved image processing for clearer video calls. Dual microphones with directional beamforming reduce background noise and focus on the user’s voice. Dual side-firing speakers support Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos for immersive audio when watching films, listening to music, or using creative applications.

Essential Connectivity
MacBook Neo offers two USB-C ports for charging, accessories, or connecting an external display, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E for fast networking and Bluetooth 6 for reliable connections with wireless peripherals.

Powerful Productivity with macOS
MacBook Neo runs macOS Tahoe, featuring built-in apps such as Safari, Photos, Messages, and FaceTime. Apple Intelligence features like Writing Tools and Live Translation are integrated across the system to enhance everyday workflows. Apple also emphasises privacy and security through built-in encryption, virus protection, and automatic security updates.

Seamless Integration with iPhone
macOS Continuity features enable smooth interaction between MacBook Neo and iPhone devices. Features such as Handoff allow users to continue tasks between devices, while Universal Clipboard enables copying and pasting across them. iPhone Mirroring allows users to interact with their iPhone directly on the Mac, and new users can easily transfer settings, files, and passwords during setup.

Built with the Environment in Mind
Apple says MacBook Neo is its lowest-carbon MacBook to date. The device contains 60 percent recycled materials, including 90 percent recycled aluminium and 100 percent recycled cobalt in the battery. The manufacturing process also reduces aluminium use, while the supply chain uses 45 percent renewable electricity. The packaging is entirely fibre-based and recyclable.

Pricing and Availability
The MacBook Neo is available to pre-order now and will begin shipping on March 11. The laptop starts at £599. It is offered in four colours: blush, indigo, silver, and citrus.
