ARCTIC Adds the Freezer i32 Plus to their Intel Cooler Range

Today cooling specialists ARCTIC are unveiling the latest in their Freezer CPU cooler series, the Freezer i32 Plus. This design has evolved considerably from the original Freezer i30 on which it's based, with improvements made to heatpipe placement, fan design and more.

Superficially the Freezer i32 Plus is similar to many other tower coolers on the market, but it also holds some key differences. Most notably, the design when combined with the two bundled PWM fans offers 'semi-passive' operation, meaning the fans idle when the system is in normal windows option and at sufficiently low load. At these times the cooler relies on the passive cooling properties of the tower itself, only kicking into life at 40% fan speed once the load it out of the cooler's idle range.

Heatpipe placement is also considerably different from the Freezer i30 and some other tower coolers. In this instance they're off-centre, better distributing heat along the aluminium fins and hence improving dissipation. The fin spacing also generations micro-vortices that circulate air around the heatpipes.

A relatively compact design should help compatibility throughout the range of Intel motherboards on the market, including both Z270 and X99 models.
