Kingston's enthusiast memory and storage brand HyperX have a reputation of producing high quality and performance SSDs. Combined with ASUS who are also known for quality and we have the HyperXpress SSD. The drive features a SATA Express interface which will be available to consumers this May when the Z97 Express chipset is released with the Core "Haswell Refresh" processors.
There isn't much to the drive. It's a host-agnostic RAID 0 array of two mSATA 6 Gb/s SSDs, wired to a host controller made by ASMedia. Essentially this means it will look like a single drive to your machine. The sample that was demoed to the press is a very early prototype according to ASUS and later versions could run two M.2 SSDs instead of mSATA. This will mean better performance due to higher throughput. In its current form the drive is capable of sequential transfer rates of 778MB/s at most which is pretty decent.
We are definitely looking forward to this and will bring you more information when we can.
