Marking its 30-year milestone in the graphics card industry, ASUS today officially unveiled the ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 – ASUS Graphics Card 30th Anniversary Limited Edition. This new flagship offering combines elite performance with striking design, celebrating three decades of ROG innovation. The ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 is capable of delivering up to 800W of power, enabling extreme overclocking performance.



Roman Hartung, better known as der8auer, got an early hands-on look at the ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 – ASUS Graphics Card 30th Anniversary Limited Edition during Gamescom 2025, which he published on his YouTube channel. He noted that the card tips the scales at well over 5 kilograms. The cooling design adopts the quad-fan cooling from the ROG Astral Series. For a more premium look and feel, the ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 features a full aluminium body. It also sports two power options, having a standard 12V-2x6 connector and an ASUS BTF connector.

A Bold New Take on ROG Matrix

The limited-edition ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 introduces a bold new chapter for the Matrix series while paying tribute to ASUS’s design heritage. Echoing elements of the classic EN9800GT Matrix, the card honours three decades of ASUS graphics innovation yet stands firmly in a league of its own.

Its design language begins with the metallic sheen of a hybrid copper-aluminium heatsink, accented by metallic highlights and a robust exterior frame. Clean, minimalist surfaces on the backplate place full emphasis on the exposed copper elements, while the card’s sharp rectangular geometry is contrasted by a circular frame housing two stacked fans at the end of the shroud. This break in form creates an unmistakable silhouette, further enhanced by a multidimensional translucent panel that delivers a striking light show. In homage to the ‘infinity mirror’ lighting first introduced on the ROG Matrix RTX 2080 Ti, this panel adds a distinctive visual signature that captures attention whether the card is mounted horizontally or vertically.



Unlike past Matrix models that relied heavily on liquid cooling, this anniversary edition showcases advanced air-cooling engineering, delivering top-tier thermal performance with the convenience of simplified maintenance. Coupled with exclusive anniversary finishes and unmistakable ROG aesthetics, the RTX 5090 Matrix embodies ASUS’s long-standing commitment to performance, reliability, and design excellence.
