ASUS Outs ROG Dominus Extreme and Prime X299-Deluxe II Motherboards

ASUS officially introduces the ROG Dominus Extreme LGA 3647 socket motherboard and the new Prime X299-Deluxe II motherboard. Both motherboards are for the updated Intel Core-X Series processors that offer more cores thus better performance on CPU-intensive applications. Along with the new motherboard is a new BIOS update for the existing ASUS X299 motherboards to support the recently released 18-core Intel Core i9-9980XE high-end desktop platform processor. The ASUS Prime X299-Deluxe II gives professionals and power users flexible build options for a powerful workstation. The ROG Dominus Extreme, on the other hand, redefines performance motherboard capabilities with industry-leading 32-power phase efficiency for extreme overclocking.

ASUS Prime X299-Deluxe II



The Prime X299 Deluxe-II drops support for Kaby Lake-X processors to focus on the higher tier Core-X Series processors, supporting up to 18 cores, four memory channels, and 44 PCIe lanes. The motherboard features a beefier VRM cooling solution and the ASUS 5-Way Optimization software for optimized cooling and performance. The Prime X299-Deluxe II integrates Thunderbolt 3 with up to 40Gbps of the aggregate interface bandwidth. The motherboard also features 5G Ethernet from Aquantia and Intel gigabit-class integrated 2x2 802.11ac wireless and Bluetooth 5 for fast wireless connectivity. The motherboard also features additional monitoring capabilities using the new ASUS Node connector.

The ROG Dominus Extreme is specially engineered to accommodate the 28-core Skylake-X based processors. The ROG Dominus Extreme features a massive 14x14-inch EEB form factor with 12 DDR4 DIMM slots supporting up to 192GB of DDR4 memory. The motherboard packs dual DIMM.2 modules with room for four NVMe SSDs. It also has a dual U.2 port to support additional NVMe drives. The motherboard also packs four PCIe x16 slots supporting multiple graphics cards all connected directly to the CPU.

The ROG Dominus Extreme supports two power supplies with nine EATX power connectors, six of which are 12V power rails. The motherboard packs 32 power phases stretched across the motherboard with a large actively cooled heatsink with four fans inside. The motherboard also packs a LiveDash OLED that uses a 1.77” colour display and RGB lighting powered by ASUS Aura Sync on its armour and rear I/O. It also comes with 10G Ethernet, Gigabit-class WiFi, and the latest SupremeFX audio. The board even has the new ASUS Node connector for our latest cooling expansion card and other compatible components.
