The ASUS Rampage boards have always been a thing of maniacal beauty. They sit there, in the shadows stealing your gaze and tempting you because they know that you know that they are awesome. However, there may be those who are a not drawn in by the traditional black and red colour scheme which is where the 'Black' edition comes in. It is predominately black with a few grey accents here and there. Besides the changes in the colour scheme the board is pretty much identical to the original.

It's based on the X79 chipset, supports up to 64GB of quad-channel DDR3, has the ability to house a four-way SLI/Crossfire setup as well as a plethora of gaming and overclocking features. It is possible that ASUS is releasing this board to compete with the EVGA X79 Black. There is no word on pricing or availability as of yet.

What do you think of the board? Is black, like, so last season or is this a thing of beauty?
