ASUS Releases BIOS Update To Address ZombieLoad, RIDL, and Fallout

ASUS releases BIOS updates to its Intel-powered notebooks to address Intel Microarchitectural Data Sampling (MDS) vulnerabilities, also known as ZombieLoad, RIDL, and Fallout. Intel states that selected 8th and 9th Generation Intel Core processors, as well as the 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processor family, are not vulnerable to MDS. If you are using one of these processors, no further action is necessary. However, processors older than the 9th and 8th generation Intel Core processors have proven vulnerabilities wherein Intel even suggests to disable hyperthreading to minimize impact. ASUS is working closely with Intel to provide a solution in a forthcoming BIOS update. ASUS recommends owners of affected products update both the BIOS and operating system as soon as these mitigations are available. Check out the first wave of BIOS updates on selected ASUS notebooks below:
