02.10.2024 - Today ]Lian Li has announced the new Lancool 207 PC case, featuring a full ATX internal layout all within the compact form of an m-ATX form factor. Available in black and white colour schemes, the Lancool 207 is perfect for anyone who doesn’t have space for a full-sized tower or wants a more compact build. The case is available today to pre-order from OverclockersUK and other etailers worldwide with an MSRP of just £89.99 inc. V.A.T. (or regional equivalents).
Internal Changes
To accommodate a full sized ATX compatible internal layout in an m-ATX case, Lian Li made multiple changes in the Lancool 207 to take it away from a conventional layout.
Firstly, the PSU location is now at the front of the case, under the front mounted fans. This allows for more space at the rear of the case for a ATX motherboard, while optimising cooling for both the PSU and internal components. The case also comes with a power extension cable, so users will still plug into the back of the case like a traditional PC.
This isn’t the only internal change Lian Li has made with the Lancool 207. The motherboard tray is now recessed, minimising any interference between the board and your cooling hardware. A word to the wise however: the recessed design means that the case has a strict motherboard width limitation of 244mm, i.e. standard ATX.
The cumulative result of these changes is significant: it arrives with external dimensions of just 450mm x 455.6mm x 219mm an an internal capacity of 45.5l, making it the perfect LAN companion or well-suited for smaller home set ups.
PPLP Lab Level-S Chassis Cooling Performance
PPLP Lab's performance certification process is starting to wind its way into hardware primarily designed in China and Taiwan, and the Lancool 207 is one of the first to have achieved their Level-S Chassis Performance Award for thermal management. This benchmark was achieved by maintaining an Intel i9-13900K at 2 degrees cooler than PPLP’s control setup.
Specific aspects of the Lancool 207's design were introduced in order to reach this level of cooling. For instance, the front, top and PSU chamber’s side panel feature highly porous steel mesh to promote air flow, and up-to eight fan mounting point were allocated to ensure that a veritable gale could move through the case as needed. Four high-performance fans are pre-installed - are perfectly positioned to channel cool air directly into your GPU, for maximum cooling performance. The 140mm fans are rated at 109.3CFM at a static pressure of 3.3mmH2O, while the 120mm fans are rated at 109.3CFM at a static pressure of 3.3mmH2O.
In addition to the four pre-installed fans, there is space for a 120mm fan at the back of the case, 2x 140mm or 3x 120mm fans on the top of the case, as well as a 280mm or 360mm radiator. Lian Li claim that the recessed motherboard also allows for the installation of a 360mm radiator with 6 120mm fans in a push/pull configuration, maintaining exceptional air flow through even densely packed radiator fins.

Additional Features
The case comes pre-configured for a horizontal GPU and hosts an adjustable anti-sag bracket that can support GPUs from 285mm up to 375mm long. The Lancool 207 has the option to have a vertical mounted GPU with the Lian Li VG4-4-V2W/X Vertical GPU kit (sold separately).
The backside of the case is built with cable management in mind, and thanks to the moved PSU location and recessed motherboard tray, the Lancool 207 makes it easier than ever for PC builders to keep their cables tidy. Most cables will now be routed behind the front panel, without having to cross the motherboard tray. To keep wires organised, there are three triple Velcro straps to gather and tidy the cables, with excess cables being easily gathered and hidden in the cavity under the motherboard tray.
The Lancool 207 is available to pre-order now from OverclockersUK and other retailers worldwide. It has a UK MSRP of £89.99 inc. V.A.T.
