It was confirmed today that Diablo 3's first expansion will be Reaper Of Souls. Although not every feature has been unveiled thus far (we anticipate that they will hold some back until at least Blizzcon 2013), Blizzard did confirm that the game will add an additional character class and increase the level cap to 70.
The expansion will follow the hero as they attempt to disrupt the schemes of Malthael, the fallen Angel of Death, who has stolen the Black Soulstone which featured prominently in the original game. A whole new Act has been added, which includes locations both familiar and unknown such Westmarch and the Pandemoniam Fortress. New powers and abilities for each class should be unlocked along the way, aiding you in your quest.

Whilst garnering plenty of positive reviews the critical and popular reception of Diablo 3 has been mixed, mainly due to the necessity of playing on Blizzard's servers and the Auction House's impact. There is no news as yet if a true offline Single Player mode will be included, but Blizzard have stated that loot will now drop less frequently and be of much higher quality overall.
Reaper Of Souls is currently slated for some time in 2014, and will require the expansion pack to play. There is no news on if it will be released simultaneously on PC, Mac and consoles.
