CHERRY XTRFY has officially launched the K63W Pro Compact Ultra-Wideband gaming keyboard, introducing what the company claims to be the industry's first gaming keyboard to combine Ultra-Wideband (UWB) wireless technology with an 8000Hz polling rate. First showcased at COMPUTEX 2026, the new keyboard targets competitive gamers seeking low-latency wireless performance without compromising typing feel or battery life.
The K63W Pro Compact also introduces a new 70% layout to the CHERRY XTRFY portfolio, offering a more compact footprint while retaining essential function keys. Combined with a low-profile gasket-mounted design, CHERRY MX Low Profile 2.0 switches, and a large 6000mAh battery, the keyboard aims to deliver a premium gaming and productivity experience in both wired and wireless modes.
Ultra-Wideband Wireless Technology
The headline feature of the CHERRY XTRFY K63W Pro Compact is its Ultra-Wideband wireless connectivity. Unlike conventional 2.4GHz wireless solutions, UWB transmits data using short pulses across a broader frequency spectrum, reducing interference from surrounding wireless devices and helping maintain a stable connection in crowded environments.
The keyboard supports an 8000Hz polling rate in both wired and wireless operation, allowing input data to be transmitted up to eight times per millisecond. This high polling rate is designed to minimise latency and ensure rapid response times during competitive gaming scenarios.
Premium Low-Profile Construction
CHERRY XTRFY has equipped the K63W Pro Compact with a gasket-mounted internal structure, a feature more commonly found on enthusiast mechanical keyboards. The design helps reduce vibration and noise while providing a softer and more controlled typing experience.
The keyboard utilises CHERRY MX Low Profile 2.0 mechanical switches, featuring revised internals and factory-tuned lubrication for smoother operation and improved acoustics. CHERRY rates the switches for over 100 million keystrokes.
New 70% Layout Designed for Gamers
The new 70% layout retains dedicated function keys while reducing the overall keyboard footprint, creating additional desk space for wider mouse movements. CHERRY XTRFY has also implemented configurable keys in the bottom-right section, allowing users to customise layouts with alternative functions such as Shift, Ctrl, or arrow key assignments.
Additional features include:
