Today Cooler Master are complementing the recent launch of the MasterMouse MM710 by unveiling a new desktop companion that saves space and brings plenty of features to your home setup: the GS750 Desktop Hub.

The initial attraction to the GS750 for many consumers will be as a handy space-saving heatset stand, particularly those who frequently switch between headset and desktop speakers. However the specifications quickly reveal a far more capable device than it would seem at first blush.

Built into the GS750 base is a discrete USB soundcard capable of up to virtual 7.1 audio on board and housing both 3.5mm analogue stereo output and microphone input. As it is seen by the operating system as a separate audio device, this setup can also help with audio management, i.e. piping game audio through desktop speakers (connected to motherboard audio) and voice comms through a heatset.

Adding to the GS750's pretensions as a desktop hub are the integration of two USB 3.0 ports which allow it to act as a powered USB hub. Not only valuable for charging USB devices, the ports are also far more convenient than motherboard rear I/O for USB thumb drives and frequently used peripherals which aren't continually connected.

The GS750 Desktop Hub's big party trick however is the integration of a Qi wireless charging surface into the base. Protected by a smart processor that prevents overheating, overcharging and charging when foreign object is detected on the pad, it supplies up to 10W of power to Qi-enabled devices such as premium smartphones placed over the CM logo. This functionality will likely be the chief draw for most end-users.

And as a final treat the Hub also brings a little bit of RGB illumination thanks to 13 LEDs placed under the base, offering 'underglow' lighting customisable to the users preference.

Cooler Master also provide a software suite to configure applicable features such as audio equalisation and RGB colour-scheme. The stand arch is manufactured from aluminium, which should make it sturdy and durable enough for day-to-day use, while a rubber base helps it stay firmly located on the desk top.
