Creative Return To The Classics With Latest Roar Speakers

Creative Technology recently announced their upcoming Sound BlasterX AE-5 sound card, but it now appears that wasn't the end of their June surprises. Today they're taking the wraps off a new Roar variant, a booklet-sized stereo speaker designed to generate full-bodied audio for any room that needs it.

The Sound Blaster Roar Classic Lite is outwardly similar to the original and award-winning Roar S20, but with a greater emphasis in form over function. Lines are cleaner, with stripped-down exterior interfaces. Connectivity is restricted to NFC Bluetooth and AUX input, rather than also supporting multiple USB connectivity options as well as microSD storage. All-in-all, it's appears to be a far more aesthetically pleasing speaker for a living-room or office space.

Creative certainly haven't skimped on the internal auto hardware - far from it in fact. The Roar Classic Lite continues to be equipped with a 5-driver system including subwoofer that provides a richer and more enveloping sound-scape. That's aided by the use of two amplifiers - one for low and mid-tones, the other dedicated to high tones.

An integrated 6000mAH Lithium-Ion Battery means that the Roar Classic Lite is available on-the-go, whilst the built-in microphone facilities hands-free conferencing for that added taste of flexibility.

Key Features

5 Speaker Drivers (including a built-in subwoofer) – for room-filling audio
Bi-amplification – for amazing details in the high, mid and low audio frequencies
NFC (Near-Field Communication) – for one-touch Bluetooth pairing
ROAR: Instant No-Holds-Barred Audio Power – instantly boost volume and spaciousness
TeraBass – intelligently enhances bass at low volumes levels
6000mAH Lithium-Ion battery – for up to 8 hours of audio playback
Built-in microphone – for hands-free speakerphone teleconferencing

The original Roar netted both the Vortez Gold and Creative awards back in 2015. Hopefully the Roar Classic Lite can live up to its pedigree.
