December Release Planned For The Deepcool Dukase

Not long after announcing the Captain 240 White ALC CPU cooler DEEPCOOL are returning their attention to the PC case arena, this time in the form of a new ATX design for high-end desktop computers. Based on a familiar ATX internal layout, the DEEPCOOL Dukase includes design flourishes which aim to set it a cut above the standard faire at the $69.99 price point.

The first and most obvious inclusion which sets it apart from competing designs is the inclusion of a shroud for the entire bottom PSU/cabling compartment, serving to hide both these and two 3.5mm HDDs. Often a drawback in budget system both due to non-modular PSUs and awkward cable routing, the shroud acts as a blanking plate to make the system internals a little sleeker and more appealing. You'll find that there's not much air circulation there for the HDDs however, and so will need to choose your components wisely. Two mounting points for 2.5" SSDs are located on the top, adding additional storage potential alongside other options dotted around the case.

Next up is the roof panel, which is suspended slightly above the chassis to facilitate ventilation of hot air out the top. Build quality is going to be key here to ensure it doesn't rattle when cooling fans are in operation, and that's going to be a key test when time comes around to review the chassis.

Rather than a static front fascia DEEPCOOL have opted for a door (swinging from the right) which is held in place when closed by magnets. A lack of venting in the front may put pay to good quality cool air intake in the front, and so will be another thing that reviewers will be keen to test. The door is held in place when closed by three magnets, rather than a latch which might wear over time.

Elsewhere around the case small touches show the care and attention DEEPCOOL have applied to the Dukase, from integrated 3-channel fan controller through to a LED strip mounting slots. Water cooling is also supported in the form of mounting points for 280mm, 240mm and 120mm rad. ALC solutions.
