Deus Ex: Mankind Divided 101 Trailer Reveals Hints Of A Possible Future

Deus Ex: Human Revolution, a prequel to the original Deus Ex and classic in its own right, ended on something of a cliffhanger as the series protagonist decided the fate of Augments, a Shadowy Conspiracy, and his own life. Mankind Divided, the direct followup, continues from where we left off all those years ago as indicated in the latest Story Trailer. Also in the trailer are allusions to the abilities a re-tooled Adam Jenson will have at his disposal. A brief warning however, it contains minor spoilers for both Human Revolution and Mankind Divided.

Originally slated for earlier this year, Mankind Divided has had its launch date pushed back to August 23rd to give it additional depth and polish. It will still be one of the first games to launch with DirectX 12 support, ensuring good performance on the latest hardware as well as making it a key barometer for graphics hardware performance in the next generation. Pre-orders (including a frankly ridiculous Collectors Edition) are available now, naturally, but as with all games waiting on Day 1 reviews is the most pragmatic approach.

One further point which should be noted from the trailer is the return of stealth to the core gameplay. Up till now Eidos has naturally focussed on the action-oriented aspects of the game, but with optional stealth such an important aspect of its predecessors it's reassuring to see it make a return.
