Planning on upgrading using the latest generation of Intel Core processors? GIGABYTE enables support for next-generation Intel Core processors, expanding the compatibility of its entire line-up of Z170, H170, B150 and H110 series LGA 1151 socket motherboards.
Updating a GIGABYTE motherboard can be done in multiple ways and users can do such with little to no effort required. The first method would be using the Q-Flash feature wherein the user can directly flash the firmware BIOS from a flash drive downloaded from the GIGABYTE website. Simply insert the flash drive to the Q-Flash enabled port at the rear I/O of the motherboard and initiate the BIOS flash via the BIOS page.
Another alternative that's available on GIGABYTE flagship motherboards wherein it doesn't require a processor and memory would be the Q-Flash Plus, available in flagship motherboard models such as the Z170X-Gaming G1. All BIOS updates can be found at the GIGAYTE website through the motherboard's product listing page, under the supports and downloads section. You can also update your GIGABYTE motherboard's BIOS using the GIGABYTE Firmware Update Utility. GIGABYTE Engineers has tested and validated all GIGABYTE 100 Series motherboards to ensure compatibility and stability of the new BIOS updates for the latest generation Intel Core processors.
