Summer will get hotter as GIGABYTE launches the Summer Spectacular 2017 Overclocking Contest. A sum of $2,500 worth of hardware is up for grabs and the prestige of getting the top spots in this globally open competition. The competition is open to everybody including novices and seasoned overclockers. There will be two cooling categories with a different set of prizes. There’s the ambient cooling category and the extreme cooling category wherein it features the use of liquid nitrogen and other extreme cooling methodologies.

The only restriction in the contest is the hardware wherein competitors can only use an Intel Core i3-7350K processor, an unlocked Intel Kaby Lake i3 processor. As for graphics, competitors are only allowed to use a NVIDIA GT730 graphics card. The hardware limitations is to create a balanced playing field for all competitors without costing them too much. For novices and enthusiasts that are new with overclocking and are simply in to join the fun, GIGABYTE included lucky draw prizes for entrants which include two GIGABYTE Z270X-UD3 motherboards, OpenBench Table HWBOT Edition, G.SKILL memory kits and others for those that completed submitting scores for all stages.
