GIGABYTE has unveiled the Z890 PLUS Series motherboards, designed to maximise the performance of mainstream desktop systems. The series introduces two key technologies - Ultra Turbo Mode and D5 Duo X, a 2-DIMM memory design built to support the newly revealed Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus Series processors.
Ultra Turbo Mode Unlocks Additional Performance
The GIGABYTE Z890 PLUS Series introduces Ultra Turbo Mode, designed to provide deeper system optimisation for users of Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus Series K-SKU processors. With a single click, the feature can unlock up to 40 percent more performance through three performance tiers.
• LV1 Intel 200S Boost - Enabled by default to deliver immediate gaming gains through tuned overclocking.
• LV2 Turbo Mode - Further increases FPS with optimised core curves and enhanced memory acceleration.
• LV3 Extreme Mode - Aggressive settings designed to maximise performance for gaming and competitive benchmarking.
D5 Duo X Memory Technology
Leading the Z890 PLUS Series are the Elite Duo X and Force Duo X models featuring GIGABYTE's new D5 Duo X technology. Designed around a 2 DIMM configuration, the technology supports the CQDIMM standard with backward compatibility for CUDIMM modules. This enables higher memory capacity without sacrificing frequency or stability.
The design combines an optimised motherboard circuit layout, advanced BIOS tuning and a refined clock driver architecture to improve signal integrity and reduce memory channel loading. GIGABYTE reports memory speeds reaching DDR5 10266, pushing the limits of DDR5 performance on mainstream platforms.
To ensure compatibility at high speeds, GIGABYTE worked with several memory manufacturers including ADATA, TeamGroup and V color to validate high capacity CQDIMM solutions for demanding workloads such as AI computing and professional content creation.
Enhanced Power Delivery and Cooling
The Z890 PLUS Series is equipped with a Digital Twin 16+1+2 phase VRM design supported by VRM Thermal Armor Advanced to maintain stable power delivery under heavy workloads. The motherboards also introduce M.2 EZ Flex, a flexible base design that improves contact between the M.2 heatsink and SSD to enhance cooling for high speed storage devices.
Ultra Durable Build Quality
Continuing GIGABYTE's Ultra Durable design philosophy, the Z890 PLUS Series incorporates a UD Base Plate that strengthens the motherboard structure while helping protect the PCB during installation.
Simplified PC Building Features
GIGABYTE has also improved the system building process with a range of EZ features.
• WIFI EZ Plug and DriverBIOS - Simplifies WiFi antenna installation and enables quick setup with immediate WiFi connectivity.

Modern Connectivity Options
The Z890 PLUS Series includes 5GbE LAN and WiFi 7 for high speed networking. Storage is supported by a PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot with M.2 Thermal Guard cooling. The boards also feature USB4 Type C with DP Alt Mode and DisplayPort support for fast peripherals and high resolution displays.
