In late October 2015 Sanmay Ved saw Google.com being offered on the popular domain site, Google Domains. He bought the multi-billion dollar website for a mere 12 dollars, he owned the domain for one minute, before google shortly noticed their mistake and canceled the purchase and paid him back for the domain.
Ved never revealed how much Google gave him for returning the domain, but the company let us know in a blog post last week. The total amount Google paid him was $6,006.13, which is Google spelled with numbers ($G,OOG.LE/$6,006.13), pretty clever.
Shorty after receiving the funds Ved decided to donate the money to a charity, when Google got word of this they match the donation to $12,012.26.
