HyperX, Kingston Technology's high performance and gaming product line, and Overclockers UK have teamed up this week to create and release a new range of special edition DDR3 DIMMs featuring their branding augmented by the performance level one has come to expect from HyperX. These DIMMs are based on the popular Genesis line, but with new aesthetics.



Limited Edition Gold DIMMs are rated at either 1866MHz and 2133MHz and are available in dual-channel 8GB and 16GB kits (2 x 4GB and 2 x 8GB respectively). Unlike classic Genesis DIMMs the PCB is black rather than green, and each heatspreader is black and gold and includes both HyperX Genesis and OCUK logos.



By contrast Limited Edition Red DIMMs are rated at 1866MHz, 2133MHz and 2400MHz and like the Gold variant are available in both 8GB and 16GB dual channel kits. The PCB is black and heatspreader is coloured black and red, once again including both HyperX Genesis and OCUK logos.

In addition to fitting well with their own respective brand colour-schemes the DIMMs are also well matched to a range Z87 and Z97 gaming and enthusiast motherboards. Mainstream and TUF ASUS boards both utilise a heavy black with gold highlight design, and you can hardly swing a cat in a warehouse without hitting a gaming motherboard with red/black livery.
