Intel has today unveiled its new Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus series desktop processors, introducing the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus models aimed at enthusiast desktop users with enhanced performance and value. The launch marks a significant upgrade over the existing Core Ultra 200S line with architectural refinements, increased core counts and new optimisation technologies.
Notable New Specifications and Features
• The Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus series features the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, delivering more cores and higher die-to-die frequency compared to their predecessors.
• The new processors offer up to 15% faster gaming performance versus existing Core Ultra Series 2 desktops, and up to 103% better multithread performance against competing CPUs in their segments.
• A new optimisation technology, the Intel Binary Optimization Tool, improves native performance in select games and workloads.
• Memory support has been boosted to DDR5-7200 MT/s and the platform retains compatibility with Intel Core Ultra 200S Boost BIOS profiles, including overclocking up to 8000 MT/s.
• Early support for 4-Rank CUDIMM memory with capacities up to 128 GB per module is supported on select Intel 800-series motherboards, providing higher capacity and bandwidth options for enthusiasts.
Availability and Pricing
The new processors will be available from March 26, 2026 with Intel suggested prices starting at $299 for the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and $199 for the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus. OEM and system integrator systems powered by these chips will also launch on the same date, with local availability and pricing subject to regional variations.
