Intel officially launches the 8th generation Intel Core processors with Radeon RX Vega graphics at CES 2018. The new processor offers performance and features that fit the demands of gamers and content creators. With the new 8th Gen Intel Core processor with Radeon RX Vega M Graphics, Intel aims to expand its portfolio of small form factor devices such as mini PCs, 2-in-1s, and thin and light notebooks.
With this, Intel launches new thin and light notebooks with partner brands like Dell and HP. Intel will also be introducing its most powerful NUC, the Intel NUC8i7HVK, and NUC8i7HNK NUCs.
8Th Gen Intel Core Processors with Vega Graphics
Intel first announced details of this new breed of processors last July 2017. The new processor combines the highly-efficient Intel quad-core processor, Radeon RX Vega M mobile graphics and 4GB of dedicated HBM2 memory into one compact processor using Intel’s Embedded Multi-Die Interconnect Bridge (EMIB) technology. EMIB acts as a high-speed intelligent information bridge between the GPU and HBM2 and reduces the usual silicon footprint to less than half that of discrete components implemented separately.
The new 8th Gen Intel Core processor with Radeon RX Vega M graphics offers an all-in-one solution for gamers and content creators with its high-performance computing and a much more superior graphics compared to the previous generation integrated graphics solutions. Intel also boasts its VR capabilities thus making the new Intel NUC the most powerful VR-ready Intel mini-PC to date.
Next-Gen Intel NUC: Smallest VR-Capable System
Intel launched the latest and most powerful Intel NUC to date, based on the newly announced 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with Radeon RX Vega M graphics. The new Intel NUC (formerly code-named Hades Canyon) brings this powerful new processor and graphics solution into an incredibly tiny 1.20-liter system. Great for VR enthusiasts and workload-heavy content creators, it will be Intel’s smallest premium VR-capable system in the market. The NUC also sports Thunderbolt 3 ports and dual Gigabit Ethernet ports.
The new Intel NUCs will come in two versions: NUC8i7HVK and NUC8i7HNK.
- The Intel NUC8i7HVK is based on the unlocked version of the new 8th Gen Intel Core processor with the Radeon RX Vega M GH graphics, giving overclockers1 the ability to take the system to higher levels.
- The Intel NUC8i7HNK uses the 8th Gen Intel Core processor with the Radeon RX Vega M GL graphics.
